In this Tutorial, Mark illustrates key design principles around the proportions of a basketball shoe. How to determine where the main outsole flex position is through human factors and biomechanics. Using industry terms for the various parts of the shoe such as last shape, lateral and medial views, metatarsal bone, heel counter, arch and more! Finally, rendering the shoe in a front 3/4 perspective angle which adds dynamics to the final design illustration. Where and how to apply shadows and highlights in order to achieve the necessary realism in your design.
